Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility Statement
The Disctrict of Columbia Space Grant Consortium is dedicated to reinforcing a culture in which our students, teachers, and faculty feel they can be authentic, welcomed, respected, included, and engaged. We actively work to remove historical barriers that have hindered underrepresented groups from participating in STEM fields. We strive to maintain an environment where they can consistently and systematically receive fair, just, and impartial treatment; and ensuring they can fully and independently access and are aware of our catalog of opportunities.
White House Executive Order on Advancing Racial Equity and Support for Underserved Communities Through the Federal Government
On January 20, 2021, President Joe Biden signed Executive Order 13985 on advancing racial equity and support for underserved communities. President Biden followed this action with Executive Order 14035 on June 25, 2021. This order addresses diversity in federal fellowships and internships, and also expands the definition of underserved communities to include those in rural areas, first generation students and professionals, veterans, and others.
We strongly encourage all applicants and awardees to review the White House's Executive Order on Advancing Racial Equity and Support for Underserved Communities Through the Federal Government.
