In response to NASA's commitment to increase the number of K-12 STEM educators over the next decade, the NASA DCSGC is launching a new, unique, and exciting program for Washington DC Metro Area Sophomores and Juniors with a declared major in a STEM discipline or Education at an accredited college or university. This opportunity is designed to recruit STEM or Education majors who are interested in teaching K-12 STEM. It will help provide them with the tools they need to successfully and confidently teach a K-12 STEM discipline after graduation. The program (see Phases 1-6 below) will emerge students in hands-on STEM activities and workshops. Students also will receive stipends of $5,000 for participating in all 6 phases of the program, and an additional stipend for participating in Phase 4.
